Bought this as a Christmas stocking stuffer. My brother and wife both tried it and pronounced it unedible. Horrible taste.

A new product, it sounded unusual, especially called "jam", but Intriguing! I love the taste of bacon and the snappy anise flavor of fennel (with which I cook on occasion). I hoped the pepper wouldn't be distracting. I decided one night to try it on a piece of lightly buttered toast. OH MY!!! Three more pieces of toast later I went to bed too full but it was worth it. It has a "sparkling" taste to it, not sure how else to describe that feeling in your mouth, but it was so good and the pepper is not overwhelming. I cooked chicken breasts one evening and removed them from the pan and added a tablespoon or more of this jam to the olive oil and pan drippings left in the pan and heated and stirred. I pored it over the chicken breasts. I was serving broccoli as well and drizzled the last few drops on the broccoli. My husband didn't think it sounded good on toast, so he hadn't as yet tried it. Well he was delighted with the chicken and broccoli and I'm ready to order more. So don't let your first thought of "bacon and licorice?????" put you off. This is delightful!

This is a delightful flavor on pasta, crackers, baked sweet potatoes and steamed vegetables. I even used to as a base for a salad dressing. I'm a big fan of fennel and I eat paleo, gluten free so I'm always on the lookout for something to spice up my diet. Found it in this. I bought it out of curiosity and am not disappointed.

A spicy treat with very good flavor! It is up to the user to decide how they want to apply the spread and it is worth it to experiment.

Add some sliced tomato and lettuce for a spicy, easy BLT.
